When it comes right down to it, most people would love to have leather upholstery in their car. However, there is a way to get the look of leather, get the color of leather, and spend significantly less money than you would with leather. That way is to get vinyl upholstery. When it comes right down to it, most people would love to have leather upholstery in their car. However, there is a way to get the look of leather, get the color of leather, and spend significantly less money than you would with leather. That way is to get vinyl upholstery. Whether it is for your car, your furniture, or any other surface, thisupholstery can be a nice alternative to leather while giving the same aesthetic as you might get with real leather. What, though, is vinyl upholstery exactly?

This upholstery is made of vinyl, which is a petroleum based plastic material. Half of the polymer that is produced to make vinyl upholstery is made up of the afore mentioned petroleum as well as other materials. The second half though is made up of chlorine, a neutral element. This helps your upholstery to be more stable as well as somewhat fire retardant.

Because it is man made and because it is made of materials that are fairly available, your upholstery costs significantly less than leather might. Leather upholstery requires the raising of the animals and, in many cases, the importing of the hides. Additionally, they must be tumbled, treated, dried, and even tanned. With vinyl, it is made, died, and ready to go into your car. Your upholstery will save you money.

It is true that vinyl is not quite as durable as leather. However, it costs significantly less. Even if you have to repair or replace your vinyl upholstery a couple of times you will likely not spend as much money as you would with leather. If you are on a budget and still want a great look for your car, vinyl upholstery just may be your best bet no matter how you look at it.
